The Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley One Full Full Day Tour is a breathtaking adventure experience in the Cusco region.
This tour combines two of the most breathtaking scenery in southern Peru into a single excursion. You won't just visit the famous Vinicunca; our itinerary stands out by including the Red Valley, a less crowded, visually stunning alternative route that offers also an authentic experience.
We have professional high-altitude staff to guarantee your safety. We also offer a small group service (7 to 15 people), small enough to receive personalised attention, but ideal for meeting people and sharing the adventure.
At the tour, you will enjoy:
Unique Geology: Multicolored mountains formed by natural mineral sediments and valleys with intense reddish hues.
Panoramic Views: You'll get a close-up view of the impressive Ausangate Mountain, the highest peak in Cusco and the region's guardian Apu (mountain spirit).
Andean Wildlife: Hike along trails surrounded by llamas and alpacas in their natural habitat.
Exclusive Route: Access to the Red Valley, a less-traveled trail that allows you to avoid the crowds and capture unique photographs.
Maximum Altitude: About 5100 meters (16,732 feet) above sea level (One of the highest hikes in the country).
Schedule: 4.00 am in the morning hotel pick-up and approximately 6.30 pm at night arrival back in Cusco.

To fully enjoy the Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley Tour and avoid any issues, please follow these guidelines:
IMPORTANT: It is essential to spend at least 1 or 2 days in Cusco or the Sacred Valley before the tour to allow your body to acclimatise and reduce the risk of altitude sickness (soroche).
Clothing: The weather is variable. Bring thermal underwear (base layer), a fleece and a jacket which holds the wind and rain. Temperatures is low and cold in the morning but usually rise up during the hike.
Rainy season: During the rainy season (November to March), a waterproof poncho or jacket is essential.
Hiking Footwear: Wear non-slip, waterproof hiking boots. The trail may be wet, slippery or dusty depending if it’s rainy or dry season.
Hydration and Energy: Bring enough water to stay hydrated and energy snacks (nuts, chocolate) for the hike.
Personal Protection: Solar radiation at high altitude is extreme. Wear a hat, sunglasses with UV protection, high-factor sunscreen and gloves for the cold.
Respect for the Environment: Always follow the instructions of our guide and respect the natural and cultural environment, avoiding littering or disturbing wildlife.
Documentation: It is essential to carry the Cusco Tourist Ticket (Partial or Full) for entry to the archaeological sites, as well as a passport or national identity document for Peruvian tourists, both of which must be original and valid.
IMPORTANT
High Altitude Conditions: Rainbow Mountain is located at over 5,100 meters (16732 feet) above sea level, so the altitude can cause physical discomfort.
Climate and Safety: The weather is changeable and unpredictable. During the rainy season (November to March), the trail can become slippery and access is regulated by local regulations to protect the environment.
Level of Difficulty: The tour is challenging and requires good physical condition. It is vital to have the appropriate equipment and follow the guide's instructions to ensure your safety.
Note: Weather conditions are beyond our control, but at Trébol Perú Expeditions we will do everything possible to offer you alternatives and ensure you have the best experience.
