Yes, the Cusco Tourist Ticket (BTC) is required for entry to Tipón and Pikillacta. You can purchase the Partial Ticket (Circuit 2), which is valid for 2 days, or the General Ticket, which includes many more attractions and is valid for 10 days. You can buy it on the day of the tour at the entrance to the first archaeological site we visit.

Does the tour include time for lunch?

The tour ends around 2:30 pm at the city of Cusco, so it does not include a formal, extended lunch stop at a restaurant. However, on the return journey, we will pass through towns such as Saylla and Oropesa. If the group agrees and time permits, a quick stop can be made to buy the famous *chuta* bread or pick up some snacks.

Is this a recommended tour if I’ve just arrived in Cusco?

Absolutely! The South Valley is one of the best routes to start your trip. Since it sits at an altitude similar to, or slightly lower than the city of Cusco and involves no long hikes or steep inclines, it is the perfect excursion to let your body gently acclimatise to the altitude while you enjoy plenty of history.
